Appearence

Hymenoptera are land animals.

Evolution

Hymenoptera are insects with a the perfect transformation. The eggs hatch legless larvae, which after some time disguise, and pupae soon hatching adult.

Body

The body is divided into head, chest and buttocks. At the head is pair of antennae and 2 compound eyes. Chest has 3 pairs of legs and 2 pairs of skinny wings. The rear wings are smaller and are covered by front wings.

Main signs

Includes many members of social insects. All individuals of insects live together in one place (ants, hive ...). They are divided into several groups (eg, queen, workers, drones) each has its own function. Between groups there is a close mutual cooperation. Hymenoptera insects are the perfect transformation, gonochorists. The fertilized eggs hatch diploid females from unfertilized contrast haploid males. Among hymenoptera there is often a degree of cooperation between individuals of one species, some species are strictly social insects - wasps, bees, ants.

The order is divided into two subgenera:
  • apocrita
  • symphyta

However, it appears that the suborder symphyta is unnatural, polyfiletic.
